Services: Design, Engineering, Installation, Service, and Controls
Cold Temp Solutions provides turnkey design, engineering, and installation services for industrial and commercial refrigeration systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. The company holds California Contractor’s State License Board (CSLB) license #1043411 and employs union journeyman technicians with over 100 combined years of field experience. Services cover the full project lifecycle — from preliminary refrigeration load calculations and system design through mechanical installation, electrical integration, controls commissioning, and operator training. Every project is engineered in compliance with IIAR 2 (Equipment, Design, and Installation of Closed-Circuit Ammonia Mechanical Refrigerating Systems), ASHRAE Standard 15 (Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems), and applicable California mechanical and building codes.
Cold Temp Solutions designs and installs refrigeration systems using ammonia (NH₃), CO₂ transcritical, HFC, and halocarbon refrigerants, selected based on facility size, application, energy efficiency goals, and long-term regulatory compliance requirements. Recent installations include EVAPCO LMP transcritical CO₂ rack systems for Bay Area cold storage operators and variable-speed ammonia rack systems with integrated Danfoss and Emerson E2 controls. The company also designs glycol secondary loop systems, blast freeze and pull-down rooms, evaporative and air-cooled condensing units, and custom chiller packages for pharmaceutical, post-harvest, and winery applications. All ammonia system designs address OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements from the initial engineering phase.
The company serves food storage and distribution facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, post-harvest and controlled atmosphere storage, winery and craft beverage producers, and commercial building owners across Contra Costa, Alameda, Solano, Sacramento, Napa, and Sonoma counties. Cold Temp Solutions self-performs mechanical, controls, and electrical work — reducing project coordination overhead and providing a single point of accountability from design through commissioning. The company is experienced with PG&E’s F-gas Reduction Incentive Program (FRIP) and other California energy rebate programs, which can significantly offset the capital cost of new natural refrigerant system installations. Emergency refrigeration service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year at (925) 374-4014.
